Interactive Map of Brownwood, Texas Site of the Casey Family Reunion
(all welcome!)
The 2008 Casey Reunion is scheduled for:
July 12-13, 2008
at the 3M Plant in Brownwood, Texas.
(see below for directions, etc.)Mark your Calendars now and PLEASE plan to attend!!!
The current group of folks who meet are primarily descendants of O.H. (Harris) and Ida Mae Haupt Casey,
though in the last few years, some descendants of "Uncle" Harold Casey (O.H.'s brother) have been coming.
We would like to see any and all descendants of James Hill Casey (1813-1901) who wish to come
to show up! Also, anyone who genealogically connects to the Casey family via the Haupt, Fisher, Turnbow, or Harris surnames (or others) are certainly most welcome! Please let us know if you need more details!
Hopefully we will continue to have a big attendance - the more the merrier!
Also, We welcome Haupt relatives.
The new grave marker (footstone) for J.H. (Hill) and Margaret "Maggie" Fisher Casey is in place at the Florence City Cemetery in Florence, Williamson Co., Texas. Thanks to all who donated!!! (Donations were taken at a prior family reunion to replace the old 'homemade' markers...although we left the old markers in place per the wishes of several of the elders as the homemade marker was fashioned by O.H. Casey)
See photos just below:
The picture of the old headstone, homemade by O.H. Casey (son of this couple) is still present in Florence and is pictured below:
Original (old) Headstone of J.H. (Hill) and Margaret "Maggie" Fisher Casey
Florence City Cemetery, Florence, Williamson Co., Texas.
This headstone was left per family request as it was made by O.H. (Overton Harris) Casey, the eldest son of this couple, and father to the 'elders' of our reunion clan now attending: Marguerite Russell, Leora Wood, Bonnie Fairey, David H. Casey, and Donald Casey.Interestingly, O.H.'s father-in-law, Louis Haupt, buried in the Fairview Cemetery in Winters, Texas is identical to these in design.
Ketta Casey, David H. Casey, David L. Casey, Rebecca Bockmon, Rebecca's son (will update when I remember his name!), Marie Fairey Cariker, Joe Cariker, Leora Wood, Bonnie Fairey, Herb Russell, Marguerite Russell, Don Casey, Joe Russell, Coralee Casey, Lina Meiswinkel, Michael Casey, Jian Casey

Please excuse that there is no 2003 Group Photo -- we just plumb forgot!
There was also no group photo in 2005 (that I'm aware of) as I became somewhat ill, and had to leave early Sunday morning missing the usual time of the picture - which is just before adjournment.
